This is a topic I’ve thought about before as well. How is God speaking to me, because I know He is. Isaiah 55:11 tells us, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” God speaks to us through the Bible every time we read it — we just may not know it right away.

And, of course, through prayer if we are still and listen. Prayer isn’t a one-sided conversation with us doing all the talking. We have to listen, too, as Psalm 46:10 tells us: “Be still, and know that I am God”.

Typically, the decisions with which I’m at peace are those I’ve brought to God first. That doesn’t always mean the easiest route, but one that is the next step in God’s plan for my life.

Hi “A Bit Confused”. I think this will be confusing till the end of time. I think what Mr. Peale is talking about,(in my opinion), is the general attitude of people around Christmas. They appear to be friendlier and happier than at other times of the year. Unless of course you’re standing in line returning gifts. Santa Claus is a legend whereas Christ’s birthday is a fact.
To understand more thoroughly the reason for the legend, I Googled “Santa Claus myth”. The Wiki answer gave many different interpretations.
I guess that’s as close an answer as I’m able to give.

So what part of the magic wand in the word “Christmas” made everything softer and more beautiful, was it the Santa Claus, or maybe it was the spending to much, or the peaceful parties of merry and cheer. Or maybe it was “Christ” and His example of what it is really all about. I for one would like to see a seperation of the two conflicting holidays thrown into one. I admit I get a little confused myself when trying to explain Christmas to my children. Don’t get me wrong I love the memories and the joy of giving and recieving, but where do Santa and Christ fit in together? Signed A Bit Confused.

That’s why Americans are in such a mess! Did you know the consumer debt last summer was a whopping $9,532,805,919,153.95! The more people that are taking charge of their finances on the UFirst Money Merge Account the more people will get out of debt. Power to the People!
